Keyana Loves…

Keyana Loves…

December 13, 2023 News, Updates

In the tradition of iconic, strong-willed girl characters like Pippi Longstocking, Ramona Quimby, and Fancy Nancy, comes Keyana McGee, the protagonist of a new picture book series, Keyana Loves… Keyana is a creative, curious 8-year-old African American girl, with a larger-than-life personality, and a mission to make her ordinary experiences and surroundings lovely and extraordinary.

Sometimes Keyana’s big ideas don’t go according to plan, and often result in a chaotic, but funny mess. However, by the end of each story, Keyana joins forces with friends and family to resolve the situation, and things turn out even more wonderful than Keyana originally imagined, and her BIG ideas really do bring light and loveliness to the everyday lives of those around her.

Keyana Loves…features themes and experiences, as well as a whimsical, funny, and lighthearted narrative style that resonates with the thetarget audience (pre-school-2nd grade).At its heart, this series is all about the creative process, including how to keep believing in your ideas and having perseverance even when things don’t work out as initially planned. The books also feature and celebrate a loving, nurturing extended African American family in which Keyana and her little brother, Miles receive the support and affirmation to explore and express their creativity and all of who they are.
